Facebook offers new buttons…
Bizarrily only 3 days ago I was asked to submit Feedback by Facebook on their social network. I was delighted to share my feelings as for a long time now I have lost any real interest in it personally and read/post on it less than twice a week. It was nice to finally be asked what I felt as I feel the social network is slowly dying a death and not too soon. Nevertheless, as someone who runs a digital agency I understand how important it still is as a tool for business as it puts you infront of your customers. With an international audience of 1.5 billion users you need to live by the adage of “fish where the fish are”.
In their most recent move they have finally gone one step further than offering the LIKE button on newsfeed content. You are now offered a choice of Like, Love, Haha, Yay, Wow, Sad, and Angry. All you need to do is hover of the Like text and you will be given the other options to choose from.
This has been on the cards for a long time with numerous forums and groups setup asking for a Dislike button. This is obviously a move towards allowing a more interactive experience by Facebook although as to how it will affect the mysterious Edge-rank (weighting) of posts is still to be discovered.
Does anyone else share the feeling that Facebook is a thing of the past? What might be done to improve Facebook or do you feel we have moved on from this type of social network?
